Important Update on Duties, Taxes, and International Shipping

All international orders placed through our website now ship under DAP (Tu'u atu ile Nofoaga) terms by default. This means:

  • You are responsible for any import duties, VAT, or other customs fees required by your local authorities.

  • These charges are e le aofia in the prices or shipping costs displayed at checkout.

  • Your local courier will typically request payment before releasing your order.

  • If you choose not to pay and the shipment is refused or returned, we cannot issue a refund.

If you’ve ordered from us in the past, you may remember that we previously offered Tiute Totogi Totogi (DDP) shipping. While well-intentioned, this approach led to challenges—especially for business customers attempting to reclaim VAT input credits. The issue stemmed from how customs value was calculated: in order to avoid double taxation, we were required to deduct prepaid taxes and discounts from the declared value. As a result, the value listed on the invoice was often lower than the amount paid, which in some regions made it difficult to recover input VAT.

More recently, the increasing volatility of international trade rules has made it impractical to maintain a DDP model. Duties, tariffs, and handling rules shift frequently, and our goal is to ensure timely and predictable deliveries without unexpected hang-ups.

In exchange, we’ve reduced our international pricing to reflect a portion of what we save through a process called tariff drawback—a provision that allows us to reclaim U.S. import tariffs on goods exported outside of the United States. This allows us to partially offset the duties or VAT you may owe upon import, helping keep your total cost closer to what you would have paid under the previous model.

We’re happy to assist if you’d like help comparing dealer and direct options.

Filifiliga o Vaa

FedEx Faʻavaomalo Faʻamuamua
Delivery to most countries in 2-3 aso pisinisi. Faʻatagaina 4–5 aso for remote or distant locations.

FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP)
Benefit from our discounted rates with FICP, offering a cost-effective alternative to FedEx International Priority. While delivery times are slightly longer—typically extending only by one or two days—FICP is usually free brokerage fees (this doesn't mean that you don't pay VAT or duties), making it an attractive option for cost-efficient shipping.

USPS Muamua Vasega Meli
Available for select low-cost items, this option is restricted to specific regions. Please note that we cautiously limit postal shipments due to an increased likelihood of item loss.

Feso'ota'iga Fa'atau Fa'ava-o-malo

We collaborate with a growing group of international dealers to provide more buying options. While we encourage exploring local dealer options for potential savings, please be advised that prices may vary and we cannot guarantee lower costs compared to our direct shipping. The choice between purchasing from our website or a local dealer rests entirely with you.

International pricing and exchange rates are fluid. We assume no responsibility for additional shipping costs incurred should a local dealer offer a more economical solution after accounting for shipping and customs (although, we often find that our direct prices are on par with most international dealers). Should you opt for a freight forwarder, it's important to recognize that once an item is in the possession of the forwarder, it is deemed delivered. Unfortunately, freight forwarders frequently misplace, mishandle, or damage shipments. While we no longer ban the use of freight forwarders, we urge you to proceed with caution and awareness of these risks.
